What We Do
We design and build UV lighting and field equipment for entomological research and insect observation.
Our focus is on reliable, modern blacklighting tools for professional entomologists, dedicated naturalists, amateur collectors, and photographers who need equipment they can depend on in real field conditions.
Located in Southest Arizona
We are located in southeast Arizona, a biodiversity hotspot among the Huachuca Mountains and the surrounding Sky Island mountain ranges that rise between the Sonoran and Chihuahuan desert landscapes.
With the Chiricahua, Santa Rita, and other Sky Island ranges easily accessible, the region is a long-standing destination for insect enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and other naturalists from around the world.
Our History
Entoquip was established at the end of 2022 following the closure of BioQuip, the predominant entomological supply company in the U.S. for more than 50 years.
When BioQuip shut its doors, many tools that entomologists and naturalists had long relied on suddenly disappeared. Our initial goal was to address that gap by developing a better blacklight—one that takes advantage of modern LED technology and improves on existing UV lighting in durability, efficiency, and performance.
Entoquip was founded and is operated by Steve Lingafelter and Adam Retzer.
